An advertisement cheering the return of beer to a Schuylkill County community | 1933

On March 22, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt signed a change to the Volstead Act that allowed the sale of beer containing up 3.2% alcohol by weight.

The changes to the law went into effect on April 7, 1933.

The full repeal of Prohibition was to wait until December 1933.

In the Schuylkill County community of Tower City, Frank Mione’s Cafe put out this advertisement celebrating the return of beer to their business.
