This week marks a big moment: 11 years of wynninghistory.com and more than 1 million views since this project began.
What started as a small personal history blog has grown into a community of readers and listeners who share a deep curiosity about Pennsylvania’s past and how it fits into the wider American story.
In this short video update, I share what’s happening in my world as a public historian, where the research is heading next, and what you can expect in the coming year.
Thank you all for reading, watching, and supporting this work for more than a decade. Be sure to subscribe to the blog and the YouTube channel for new stories, documentaries, and updates on Coal Region history and beyond.
Cheers,
Jake

Congrats on one million views, Jake! That’s a terrific accomplishment! I hope that the “Letters from War” series featuring my father’s letters from WW2 was a major contributor to that number. Thank you again for putting those letters in the spotlight. I wish you continued success. Keep doing what you’re doing!
Thank you, Tim! Working with the letters written by your father remain most cherished moments since I started this project. Thankful to you and your whole family for all the support and the help!

Wonderful news! As a former Williamstown resident, I appreciate all the writing you do about our hometown. Born in Pottsville Hospital in 1953 I have lived some of the things in your articles. And have heard stories from my elder relatives that back-up your narratives and stories.
I am very proud of you. Please, continue to enlighten us with the stories and adventures from the Valleys.
