Back in March 2023, I made a quick stop by the historic Rockville Bridge over the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The stone span has been an essential transportation link in Pennsylvania since its completion in 1902 (two previous spans fulfilled a similar role at the same location). In a visit of less than 30 minutes, we saw three trains cross the bridge.





I also found some interesting historic markers I’d never seen before – one honoring those who built the bridge and makeshift spray paint markers denoting historic flooding at the bridge in years like 1972 and 1996.
